ARTS 4803 Northern Renaissance Art A survey of painting, prints, and sculpture produced in northern Europe from 1400 to 1600 with emphasis on issues of workshop practices, court culture, the effects of commerce on the art market and patronage, humanism, witchcraft, and the religious upheaval of the Protestant Reformation in the Low Countries, France, and Germany. Artists considered include Jan van Eyck, Rogier van der Weyden, Albrecht Durer, Hieronymus Bosch, and Pieter Brueghel.

Prerequisite: ARTS 2800 or ARTS 2810 .
